ABOUT
Kai Clements (aka Kai & Sunny) b.1975 is a UK based artist where he attended the Epsom School of Art in Surrey, graduating with a first-class honours degree in Art and Design.
The works of Kai & Sunny are defined by vibrant colour palettes, fluid motion, and meticulously layered compositions. Executed in acrylic on linen and pen on archival paper, each piece is instantly recognisable portraying an intricate balance of precision and spontaneity that gives Kai’s practice a distinct visual signature.
The name Kai & Sunny has a strong ethos in collaboration with other artists with an emphasis on the collective. This brings together the idea of ‘Unity’ and enables the artist to continually evolve and grow.
The connection with the collective has seen Kai Clements (Kai & Sunny) collaborate with Tiffany & Co, music projects with Toydrum (Slow Horses soundtrack) and story projects with author David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas). Collaborating with artists as well as different fields of innovation and expression brings together a unique working process Kai values.
Kai & Sunny has exhibited all over the world including, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Paris, and London and shown at the institute Haunch of Venison. The work of Kai & Sunny is included in the Victoria and Albert Museum Print Archive Collection.
‘I’m fascinated by the power of the natural world, and to explore those precious unseen moments such as the frequencies within nature. My aim is to immerse the viewer within forces of nature, and use colour, light and movement to transport them through a journey.’ Kai Clements
